Birdcage Tea Tin:

Good morning all!  Happy Wednesday to you and only a short few more days to a LONG WEEKEND!  Yippeeeeee!  Monday around here is really just known as "Civic Holiday".  Nothing too fancy there but any day off from work is a great day to me!!

In Memory:

Good morning all!  It looks like it's going be another cool day out there.  Such a strange Summer.

My wrist/thumb are a bit better, although using scissors makes for an interesting and painful project.  It's amazing how many times on one card I grab for the scissors, especially when stitching.  Oh well, all in the name of crafting ;)

Today I used one of my favourite sentiments from Pink Petticoat.  Isn't just perfect?

Card IngredientsPink Petticoat Simple Sentiments stamp, Creative Imaginations Song Birds papers, Recollections cardstock, Wild Orchard flowers, Recollections pearls, Copic markers (for colouring flowers and pearls).  Tools:  sewing machine, CC Designs Olive Branch cutters.

I created this card for the following challenges:  My Time to Craft and Aud Sentiments - sympathy, Unscripted Sketches - sketch:

ETA:  I just knew I played along with Unscripted Sketches the first time around, I even found my card(s) and the blog post from October 22, 2009!  Come on, how fun is that!!!???!!!

My original 2009 post is here and I had made these two cards for the challenge:

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Clemmy Snowballs:

Good morning all!  Five months from today, it will pitch black out, freezing cold, and there will be me:  warming up the car getting ready for Boxing Day shopping!!  One of my favourite days of the year!

I thought I would give colouing a go with my "broken" thumb/wrist (okay, it's not broken, but it sure feels that way!).

It's not my best work, I think the details are on the messy side, but I DO like the red and green together.  I am so used to doing very non-traditional Christmas colours that I had forgotten how beautiful red and green are.

Card Ingredients:  StampFairy digi, MME Traveler papers, Bazzill and Recollections cardstock, Craftsmart Teal ink, Prismacolor pencils, Celebrate It ribbon, Recollections pearls.  Tools:  mineral spirits and blending stumps, makeup sponge (for blending sky), sewing machine, Labels 4 Nestie.

I created this card for the following challenges:  Christmas Challenges w Sketches - sketch (do not display sketch) and NO Christmas stamps, Crafting by Design, Card Crafter's Circle, Jellypark, and Crafting for all Seasons - Christmas in July.

Have a super wonderful weekend!  Cheers!

Celebrate Christmas:

Good morning all!  Hope had a wonderful weekend.  It rained a lot but also gave me a chance to hang out in my craftroom!

I have about 50% use of my right hand.  It's all splinted up and I can't move my thumb.  So a lot of the details on my card where done with my left hand, it got a little messy at times (hot glue every where!) and took WAY longer than usual.  Two thumbs up for effort - ouch!  Okay, maybe not.

I found the "Celebrate" from a birthday set, and the "December" and "25" are from a calendar set.  The "25" is really "2015" which I masked to fit.  I was determined to make it work.
Card Ingredients:  JustRite Birthday Vintage Labels Four and A New Day (Amazing Paper Grace release) stamps, Stampin Up! Purely Pomegranate ink, Kaiser Craft papers, DCWV cardstock, Wild Orchard flowers, Dress It Up jingle bells, American Crafts jute, Recollections gems, upcycled bling band and snowflake.  Tools:  JustRite Vintage Labels Four die, Elegant Labels Four and Labels Four Nesties, sewing machine.

I created this card for the following challenges:  jingle belles - sleigh bells, Christmas Card Challenges - snowflakes, JustRite Friday Challenge - Christmas in July, ABC Challenge - roses are red.

Have a great Monday!

Christmas Tree Barry:

Good morning all!  It is simply gorgeous out this morning, I almost want to take my laptop and coffee out under our gazebo but that just seems like too much work this early in the morning ;)

I finally was able to work on another Christmas card, it's been quite a few weeks and my Christmas card count is going much too slowly for my liking.  I guess slow and steady will get me there.

I used some fun, non traditional papers (called Park Bench) and colours.  Did you notice there isn't one embellishment on the whole card??  Hopefully not, I made it fussy enough that I hope it's not lacking a ribbon or a pearl ;)

I used sweet lil Barry, and of course, gave him a paper pieced toque (hat) and scarf (yes, I am Canadian and it's a toque):

Card Ingredients:  StampFairy digi, Fancy Pants Park Bench papers, Recollections cardstock, Craftsmart Teal ink, Prismacolor pencilsTools:  mineral spirits and blending stumps, makeup sponge (for blending sky), sewing machine, Rectangle Nesties, Making Memories edge distresser.

I created this card for the following challenges:  Christmas Challenges w Sketches - sketch (do not display sketch), ABC Christmas - no embellishments, Sparkles Christmas - Christmas tree, Holly Jolly - outdoors, ChristmasStampin'AYL - machine stitching.

That's it for me today - have a super wonderful weekend!

Good morning all! Hope you are enjoying your Summer so far.  It's been great to get into the real world, but I do miss being in my craft room more than I thought I would.  When you live in mid-Canada, you enjoy every Summer day you get because you know a harsh winter is just around the corner :)

Barry Celebrates:

Good morning sweet Friday!!!  Aren't Fridays just the best??  Saturdays are my favourite, but Fridays are a close secound :)

Today I am sharing a baby girl card featuring Barry.  I do love my bears and Barry is just so darn cute!

Can I share a little secret??  When you see blue skies on my cards, that usually means my wrist has been bothering me.  Colouring can really aggravate my wrist, especially after spending time on my character, but sponging (blue skies) is much less painful and looks pretty fabulous too!

Card Ingredients:  StampFairy digi, MME papers, American Crafts and Recollections cardstock, Prismacolor pencils, Celebrate It ribbon, Recollections pearls, random button.  Tools:  mineral spirits and blending stumps, sewing machine, Oval and Scalloped Oval Nesties.

I have created this card for the following challenges: Penny's Challenge - pink, Make my Monday - balloons, Crafting Musketeers - ribbon/pearls, Songbird - ribbon, Cutie Pie - cute/cuddly, Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch:

Enjoy your weekend!  I hope you can grab a little sunshine.

Good morning all!  I have been busy, busy in the real world.  Every chance I've gotten, I've been outside enjoying the weather or staining our deck (and battling the massive amounts of mosquitos out there - yikes!)

Sweet Angel:

Good morning all!  It's a rainy, gloomy kind of day out there so it's perfect weather for hanging out in my craft room on my last day of holidays.

I've used Barry, one of my favourites.  I've decided I am a bear kind of gal, love all of them:  Donny, Jake, Barry, and Lenny.  They are all just so fluffy and adorable :)

This is my first time shading wings, usually I just add glitter.  I am always worried they are just going to look dirty, but I think they turned out well enough :)
Card Ingredients:  StampFairy digi, MME and K&Co papers, Recollections cardstock, Prismacolor pencils, Wild Orchard flower, American Crafts jute, Celebrate It ribbon, random buttons.  Tools:  mineral spirits and blending stumps, sewing machine.

I crafted up this card for the following challenges:  Ooh La La - little ones, Cutie Pie - paper piecing/cute, Divas by Design - cute, Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch:

Have a wonderful Friday.  Cheers!

Summer Lovin' Lenny:

Good morning all!!  Happy 146th Birthday Canada!!!  Most Canadians celebrate with having a bbq, fireworks, city festivities, you know regular celebrating.  I just enjoy a day off from everything, in fact I am spending it in my craft room.  In the air conditioning.  Because the humidity out there will make me MELT!

So with Summer officially here in Canada, StampFairy is sponsoring Incy Wincy Designs' Summer Lovin' challenge.

I thought water melon, and decided Lenny would be perfect!  What else reminds me of Summer??  Gingham (well that and Christmas LOL):

I paper pieced Lenny's watermelon for a very matchy-matchy-matchy card.
Card Ingredients:  StampFairy digi, Echo Park and Recollections papers, Recollections cardstock, Prismacolor pencils, Gelly Roll white pen, Wild Orchard flowers, Craftsmart Teal ink, American Crafts jute, Glossy Accents.  Tools:  mineral spirits and blending stumps, make-up sponge for sky, Oval and Scalloped Oval Nesties.
