Merry Monday 110:

Merry Monday all!
This week, Debbie has chosen the theme of using Christmas food on your card.

I am not sure why, but I really struggled with this challenge (sorry Debbie!) as I just was not happy with my first card... or my secound card...  and the third - meh.  On a positive note, I get to add three cards to my Christmas card stash.

So I have three completely different cards to share with you all :)

Card 3:  Roasting Marshmallows, one layer card, coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

Card 2 - Christmas Macaroons, using non-traditional colours.

Card 1 - Christmas Baking, going with a vintage shabby look.

Card Ingredients:
none to share - way too much work ;)

Don't forget to check out the rest of my teamies super fantastic creations at Merry Monday.  They completely rocked it this week!!!

05.22.14:

Hi all.  I hope you have been enjoying your week.

I decided to bring out my watercolours again.  I have a little tippy-tip for new watercolour peeps out there: use a heavy cold press paper.  Last time I used a 90 lb paper and I found it buckled with the water A LOT (and I tried all the tricks out there to flatten it afterwards) this time I used 140 lb paper and it curved a smidge, but nothing anyone would notice.  HUGE difference  =)

I painted, splashed and splooshed. Stamped, tied, and fussy-cutted.

And came up with this shaker card  =)

Card Ingredients:
Stamps:  Rubber Stampede Contemporary Anniversary sentiment, Wplus9 Love Birds
Inks:  Memento Bamboo Leaves, Artist's Loft Watercolor Pan paints
Cardstock: Strathmore Watercolor 140 lbs
Bits/Bobs: Lawn Fawn sequins, We R Memory Makers bakers twine
Tools: Wplus9 Love Birds die, EK Success Corner punch, Oval Nestie

Enjoy the rest of your week and have a super great weekend!  Cheers!!

05.11.14:

Happy Sunday all!

I have spent the day working with watercolour paints again.  This time I am using paint as ink.  By using a brush, I applied the paint to my trusty feather stamp.

My paint set did not have the colours I was looking for, so I mixed colours to make navy, teal, and lime green (well as close as I could get)  :)

Card Ingredients:
Stamps:  Inkadinkado Feather, Rubber Stampede Contemporary Anniversary sentiment
Inks: Memento Nautical Blue, Artist's Loft Watercolor Pan paints
Cardstock:  Artist's Loft Watercolor Pad
Bits/Bobs: Darcie sequins, vellum
Tools:  EK Success Corner punch, Martha Stewart embossing board

05.10.14:

We have all seen it:  watercolour.  I ran to Michaels last week (I couldn't *possibly* wait for something on-line) and picked up some cheap watercolour paints, brushes, and cold press watercolour paper.  (BTW:  Cold press = textured paper, more easily forgiving.  Hot press = flat paper.)

Looks rather simple, right?  Wrong.

I have been working with watercolour paints all week and since today, have thrown all my little watercolour creations away.  In the garbage.  Goodbye.
I should really join the on-line watercolour class at OnLineCardClasses.com but I am just way too stubborn :)

Determination keeps me going.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp! Giving Thanks
Inks: ColorBox Frost White, Artist's Loft Watercolor Pan paints
Cardstock: Artist's Loft Watercolor Pad
Bits/Bobs:  KaiserCraft Wooden Speech Bubble, Stampendous! White embossing powder
Tools: EK Success Corner punch, heat embossing gun

I had so much fun last week with gingies, that I just had to use one again this week - I mean, come on - just look at those cheeks!

05.03.14:

Good morning all!  I don't know about you, but we desperately need some sun around here.  It's been gloomy, rainy, snowy and cold.  Everyone is a Mr. Cranky Pants.  Including me :)

I thought I would cheer myself up with a bright and happy card, feathers and all!  I also tried using thread in a messy way as I see it make an appearance here and there in the crafting world.

I do have a question (which I suppose I should have had on here earlier) - would you consider this CAS??  I would, but maybe I am pushing it with the stitching??

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Stampendous! sentiment
Inks: Versafine Onyx Black
Design Papers: MME Happy Day
Cardstock: Recollections
Bits/Bobs: vellum paper, orange thread
Tools: Spellbinders Shapeabilities Feathers, EK Success Corner punch
